The introduction of VAR (video assistant referee) into the beautiful game of football was said to be a laudable one due to the frequent erroneous incidents in most aspects of the game. With its introduction. The games being played in Asia, Europe, America and Africa, were all to be regulated by this feat of technological advancement.

In recent times, especially in the English Premier League and at the Euros tournament, the supposed home of football, England merited from what was rather a shocking decision that led to their victory over Denmark during the game yesterday.

The events to the penalty given, in my opinion, was so sinister, and it being allowed, makes football seem like a game of unintelligence. The players, even the fans looked like amateurs while we were glued to our screens waiting for the clarion call to stop the chaos.  The Denmark fans with their quizzical faces told the whole story; "They were robbed in daylight!"

Was a wrong penalty given? Yes!! At this day and age? How? At this very Euros; a soft penalty was awarded to England and the so-called VAR couldn't do a thing about it, but rather helped endorse such abnormality in modern-day football.

Denmark has won our hearts! Certainly, our eyes are fixated on the final and its outcome. Now more than ever we know what the VAR is;  a true "demon" in football!
