The National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by Mr John Dramani Mahama is expected to launch its 2020 manifesto at 6 pm tonight at the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

The National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi announced earlier that the set date of the launch was August 31. This was, however, opposed by the General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia in a press release when he revealed that the date is September 7.

The campaign spokesperson for the NDC, James Agyenim - Boateng made a statement that the manifesto is set to represent the vision and programmes of the John Mahama-Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang ticket for the 2020 elections.

The flag bearer, Mr Mahama mentioned that the 2020 manifesto of the NDC, which is expected to be launched today will turn Ghana into an advanced nation. He also stated that “It is our sacred mission to turn Ghana into an advanced nation as soon as possible! It is our moral obligation to be bold and aim at greatness.” Mr Mahama said people question why he was vying for the position of a President again. He indicated that he had no problem with that question. According to him, the manifesto will provide the answer. “It will be a collective answer coming from the fabulous NDC members and supporters, men and women, who participated in its formulation.”

Mr. Mahama revealed that he is standing again as President because he saw it as a sense of urgency to rescue the nation Ghana. His vision is to build the country into a more advanced nation, where creativity, innovation, building robust social and economic infrastructures and the production of high value-added products and services will be required.
